DXF/SVG diagnosis & repair · offline · pay once
Your DXF won't cut? Find out why — in 5 seconds, offline.
DXF Medic reads the broken DXF and SVG exports that make other tools crash or silently drop geometry. It names every defect it finds — with measurements and a fix hint — repairs what can be repaired automatically, and gives you a clean file back. Entirely in your browser: the file never leaves your machine.
Diagnosis is free, unlimited and complete. Downloading the repaired file is free too, up to 5 parts.
Prices plus VAT/sales tax depending on your country — the checkout shows the final amount.
Five ways a file refuses to cut.
"The file looks fine in CAD but the machine rejects it" almost always comes down to one of a handful of defects. DXF Medic finds all of them, tells you which part is affected and what it measured — and fixes what can be fixed automatically:
→ Closed automatically up to your gap tolerance (adjustable); every closed gap is listed with part and distance.
→ DXF Medic shows what it assumed, warns clearly, and lets you override the unit before export.
→ Welded automatically; the report counts every weld.
→ Named with the affected contour so you can fix it in CAD. Not auto-"fixed" behind your back — guessing here would be wrong.
→ Removed automatically and listed, so you know exactly what was dropped and why.
Everything the repair does is reported — nothing happens silently. A file that can't be rescued gets a named error that says what's wrong and where, never a crash or a spinner.
Drop. Diagnose. Download.
No install, no signup, no manual. Three steps, and the third one is optional — the diagnosis alone often tells you everything you need.
-
Drop your file.
DXF or SVG, drag & drop or file dialog. Parsing happens in your browser (WebAssembly) — there is no upload endpoint, your file stays on your machine.
-
Read the diagnosis.
A traffic-light summary, then named findings with measurements — "gap 0.32 mm closed at part 3", "unit missing, assumed mm" — plus file facts, a part table and a before/after preview. The diagnosis is free, unlimited and complete: nothing is held back to sell you the fix.
-
Download the repaired file.
Adjust the gap tolerance or override the unit if you need to, hit repair, export DXF or SVG. Arcs stay true arcs — no polygon soup — and parts keep their original coordinates, so the repaired file is a drop-in replacement for the broken one.
What DXF Medic is not.
One job, done properly: get a broken file cuttable and tell you the truth about it. Three things it deliberately does not do:
Not a CAM tool
No toolpaths, no feeds and speeds, no G-code. DXF Medic hands a clean file to the CAM software you already use.
Not an editor
It won't let you draw or reshape geometry. What can be repaired objectively is repaired; design decisions stay in your CAD tool.
Not a nesting tool
Arranging parts on sheets is its own discipline. If that's what you need, our sister product NestForge does true-shape nesting with the same engine underneath.
Built on a proven engine.
DXF Medic is not a weekend parser. It runs the same import, sanitize and export pipeline as NestForge, our nesting studio — an engine built and tested specifically to survive real-world garbage files.
All 53 deliberately malformed files in the corpus end in a named error or a repaired import with explicit warnings — never a freeze. The engine is deterministic: the same file with the same options produces a bit-identical result, every time. And arcs survive the whole pipeline as true arcs, from import to the exported DXF/SVG.

Questions, answered honestly.
The same answers we give in support mail — no marketing dialect.
Does it really work offline?
Yes. After the first load you can install it as an app (your browser will offer this) and use it with no internet connection at all. Diagnosis, repair, export and license verification all run locally. There is no server component — not for computing, not for licensing, not for anything.
Where do my files go? Do you see my designs?
Nowhere, and no. Files are opened in your browser's memory and never transmitted — there is no upload endpoint in the product. We run no analytics and no telemetry.
Which formats can I open and export?
Import: DXF R12/2000/2007 text format — LWPOLYLINE with arcs, LINE, ARC, CIRCLE, ELLIPSE, SPLINE, POLYLINE, and INSERT/blocks including nested and mirrored ones — and SVG (paths, rects, circles, ellipses, polygons, groups with transforms). Export: repaired DXF or SVG.
Can it open DWG files?
No — DXF and SVG only. DWG is a closed binary format; convert it to DXF first in your CAD tool (most can "Save as DXF") or with the free ODA File Converter, then drop the DXF here. We'd rather say this plainly than half-support DWG.
What exactly gets repaired — and what is only reported?
Repaired automatically (and itemized in the report): small contour gaps up to your adjustable tolerance, duplicate/stacked vertices, degenerate zero-length entities and sliver contours. Reported with a named finding and a fix hint, but not auto-changed: self-intersections, unsupported entities and truncated files — silently guessing there would mean cutting something you didn't design.
Will the repair move, scale or distort my geometry?
No. Parts keep their original coordinates (unit-scaled to real-world size), and circles and arcs stay true arcs through repair and export — they are not flattened into polygon segments. The repaired file is meant as a drop-in replacement for the broken one.
What are the free tier limits exactly?
The diagnosis is free, unlimited and complete — every finding, every measurement, for any number of files. Downloading the repaired file is free for files with up to 5 parts. Above that, the export asks for a license (€9 launch price, one-time). Nothing else differs between free and paid. Prices are plus VAT/sales tax depending on your country — the payment processor shows the final amount at checkout.
What's the refund policy?
14 days, no questions asked, whether you're an EU consumer or not. Repair results depend on your specific files, and we'd rather refund than argue. See the refund & withdrawal policy.
On how many machines can I use my license?
On all machines you personally use — the key is bound to your email address, not to hardware, and is verified offline. Workshop PC, laptop, home machine: one license. Re-entering it is a single paste.
I also need to nest parts on sheets — can DXF Medic do that?
No, deliberately not — nesting is its own discipline. Our sister product NestForge does true-shape nesting for laser, CNC and plasma, offline in the browser, built on the same engine. If your files import in DXF Medic, they'll import there too.
